Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar is the current Chair of Slow food in Cornwall, and passionately strives to inculcate the habit of fresh, local community eating in grass root levels.

Fish cooking remains a passion for Sanjay since his very early days in Bengal, India and he works closely with the Fishermen’s mission in Newlyn in raising vital money for various causes. Amongst his relentless efforts, Sanjay organized a recent event at Helston College to glorify Newlyn caught fish.

As a unique move in his cooking journey, Sanjay will be the Western most chef in the English mainland and aspires to cultivate a lot of his own produce and start a young person’s cookery school in Lands End Hotel, beginning Autumn 2010.

Sanjay will be representing Cornwall and United Kingdom, in Prince Charles’s , Clarence house garden party in September, and will be visiting Italy in October for the “Terra Madre-Earth festival of food”.
